What is Z275 coating?

What is different from PPGI and PPGL?

PPGI and PPGL panels are two different color coated steel plates, widely used in various industries, such as advertising, construction, transportation, home appliances, etc., they are very similar. But there are still some differences. So, what's the difference between PPGI and PPGL tables? Read on for details. 1. The base Material PPGI stands for pre-painted galvanized steel, and PPGL stands for pre-painted galvalume steel. As the name suggests, PPGI uses galvanized sheet (with a zinc coating) as its base material. However, PPGL is based on aluminized zinc plate, which is plated with 55% aluminum, 43.3% zinc and 1.6% silicon. This is a major difference between PPGI and PPGL, which will further affect their features and applications. 2. Service life As mentioned earlier, both zinc and aluminum-zinc coatings are used to protect the metal from rust and extend its service life. For GI sheets, the base material is damaged when the zinc layer corrodes completely. Generally speaking, galvanized sheet can be used for 10 to 15 years. Aluminum and zinc alloys form microscopic particle regions. Zinc - rich phases corrode preferentially, while aluminum - rich phases corrode very slowly. So Al-Zn coating is more resistant to corrosion than galvanized steel.
